Editing Modernism in Canada

Training

Training Institutes

EMiC is offering two training institutes in 2014: DEMiC at the Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI), which takes place in June at the University of Victoria, and Textual Editing & Modernism in Canada (TEMiC), which takes place in July at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in Kelowna, BC.

The aim of our training institutes is to ensure that the best practices of textual and digital editing are brought to the community of scholars affiliated with EMiC and that our scholars are given the opportunity to network with broader communities of editorial and computing practice. Both DEMiC and TEMiC are highly recommended to anyone with an interest in digital humanities, scholarly editing, and modernism in Canada.

EMiC training institutes are intended for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty at partner institutions with a background in Canadian and modernist literatures and/or textual editing.

Both TEMiC and DEMiC are intended for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty with interests in Canadian modernism, the digital humanities, and/or textual editing. The aim of these institutes is to ensure that the best practices of textual and digital editing are brought to the EMiC community.

A limited number of subventions for travel and accommodations are available to cluster participants and affiliated students attending EMiC summer institutes. Please indicate on your registration form whether you require a travel and/or accommodation subvention from EMiC.

If you have questions about either TEMiC or DEMiC, please contact Karis Shearer.
